The Credit for Prior Learning pathway allows Montessori professionals holding a diploma from a MACTE-accredited I/T, EC, EL I–II, or Admin training program to earn a Master of Education (M.Ed.) with a major in Montessori Education.

Upon submission of a diploma bearing the MACTE accreditation seal and payment of a non-refundable $500 fee, students receive a translation of 15 credits toward the 33-credit master's degree program.

Credit for Prior Learning graduate courses are taught in an asynchronous, online format. Classes are 8 weeks during the fall, spring, and summer semesters.

The Credit for Prior Learning pathway includes weekly forums and assignments that encourage collaboration and hands-on learning. Each course culminates in a project that allows students to directly apply Montessori principles to their work. The program embodies Loyola’s dedication to preparing educators to lead with innovation and make a lasting impact on their communities.
