Scholarships and Awards

Loyola University Maryland's School of Education offers various scholarships. Below you will find information on the following opportunities:

Merit Scholarship

Merit-based scholarships are awarded to new students based on prior academic excellence at the time of admission. A separate application is not required. Submit completed program application and all supplemental documents to the Office of Graduate Admission by the priority scholarship deadline to be consider. Merit scholarships are offered for the following programs:

  • Curriculum and Instruction
  • Educational Leadership (Masters program only)
  • Learning Design & Technology 
  • Kodaly Music Education 
  • Literacy Education (Masters program only)
  • Master's of Arts in Teaching
  • Montessori Education
  • School Counseling (Masters program only)
  • Special Education
CRISP Scholar Award

CRISP Scholar Awards provide a scholarship to a select number of qualified School Counseling applicants who come from diverse backgrounds with a commitment to working in high need schools in Baltimore County.  Application period is  for the Summer start term. 

CREST Scholar Award

The CREST Scholars supports tuition, books, fees, and licensure exams for full-time MAT students by awarding funds ranging from approximately $18,000 to $22,000. In addition to meeting the requirements of the program, funded CREST Scholars must commit to teach their STEM discipline in a high-need school for at least two years after graduation

Teaching Fellows

Teaching Fellows for Maryland Scholarships are awarded to students who pledge to work as public school or public prekindergarten teachers in Maryland upon completion of their studies at schools that have at least 50% of the students in the school eligible for free or reduced-price meals (FRPM).

School of National Service - AmeriCorps Matching Grant

Loyola offers a $1,000 matching grant ($500 a semester for the first two semesters) to AmeriCorps volunteers who are accepted and enroll in a Loyola University Maryland degree seeking graduate program.

Archdiocese of Baltimore Scholarship

Archdiocese of Baltimore Scholarships are available each semester to teachers and administrators in the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Please note, you must include the signed application from your principal/assistant principal. 

Ignatius Grants

Ignatius Grants are awarded to non-cohort students based on dedication to the Jesuit mission and potential for success in the program.

  • Master's of Arts in Teaching

Double Greyhound Alumni Discount

Students who graduated with a degree from Loyola University Maryland and are enrolled in a qualifying master's degree program are eligible for a 15% Double Greyhound Discount
