Loyola's MAT Student Receives Teaching Fellows for Maryland Scholarship

Loyola University Maryland is proud to announce that one of its Master of Arts in Teaching students, Summer Pearson, '22, received the Teaching Fellows for Maryland Scholarship. Loyola was one of only four private universities in Maryland that provided a matching tuition award.

Summer is pursuing a music certification in grades PK-12 and will be teaching at an underserved Maryland Public School after graduation. As a single mom of two sons, she says, "For me this scholarship is a miracle. It gives me the ability to focus on my studies and teaching internship without the stress of also working full-time to support my family. I am so grateful."
