MAT almuna brings culture and diversity to South Carroll High School

Hena Shami, ’18, is a graduate of Loyola’s School of Education Master of Arts in Teaching program. She is a chemistry teacher at South Carroll High School in the Carroll County Public School system. Shami is Muslim, and is part of the four percent non-Caucasian staff in Carroll County. In an article with the Carroll County Times, Shami shares her experiences as a teacher and why she feels it’s important to share her culture with the students at her school.
