Master's in Literacy for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Populations

Literacy graduate courses are taught in a synchronous, online format. Classes are 8 weeks. Students can start in the fall, spring, or summer.

Upon completion of the program, students can receive the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) ESOL endorsement upon passing the ESOL English to Speakers of Other Languages Praxis II #5362 exam. 

To complete the program, students must...

• Complete 30 credits of coursework
• Maintain 3.0 QPA average
• Take and pass PRAXIS II – ESOL #5362 with a passing score of 163 or higher
• Take and pass Teaching Reading: Elementary Education Praxis #5205 with a passing score of 159 or higher

Students of the M.Ed. in Literacy for culturally and linguistically diverse populations program initially complete the Literacy Core course before proceeding to the teaching CLD learners track.
