Application Information for Transfer Students

Thank you for your interest in the Sellinger Scholars Program. The application for the 2025-26 academic year is now available. To access this application, you will need to use your Applicant Status Portal login credentials sent to you via email after you apply for admission to Loyola.

Rolling admission based on space availability (students can begin the program in either the fall or spring semesters).

How the Application Works

You must apply to Loyola University Maryland before applying to the Sellinger Scholars Program, though you may apply to the Sellinger Scholars Program before you receive an admission decision from Loyola University Maryland.

Sellinger Scholars Program Requirements

Students interested in the Sellinger Scholars Program must be a major in the Sellinger School of Business and pursue studies in one of the below:

  • Accounting
  • Business Economics
  • Finance
  • Information Systems and Data Analytics
  • International Business
  • Leadership and Management Consulting
  • Marketing
  • Sustainability Management

To be eligible for the program, transfer students would need to complete at least five (5) of the following business honors (BH) courses during their time at Loyola:

  • BH 200: Financial Accounting
  • BH 201: Management
  • BH 240: Marketing
  • BH 251: Data Analytics and Information Systems
  • BH 260: Supply Chain and Operations Management
  • BH 305: Legal Environment of Business
  • BH 320: Financial Management
  • BH 403: Scholar Consulting Practicum (Required in Senior Year)

If accepted into the program, Sellinger Scholars must maintain a 3.30 cumulative GPA and take the 1 credit Sellinger Seminar course (BH 198) every semester they are on campus. Transfer students are able to study abroad, double major, and take on leadership positions.

The academic director, along with the Advising Center, will work with admitted students to plan their coursework based on previous credits obtained. Students will take courses with their class year cohort and with other cohorts as necessary.

What is the application process?

The selection process is competitive and is based on a comprehensive application package which evaluates a candidate’s academic interests and achievements, leadership and extracurricular activities, awards and honors, and professional and volunteer experience.

Acceptance into the program is based upon the following:

  • Completed Application Form
  • Academic Performance and Involvement
  • Written Essay
  • Essay/Video response to a prompt
