Global Scholars

The Global Studies Global Scholars (GSGS) program is a new signature element of the Global Studies program. Each year, a new cohort is a selected to participate in a Loyola faculty-led program to a destination that offers an opportunity for students to travel and learn in a different destination. Programs are designed around the Global Studies learning aims and most costs are covered by a gift from Ellen and Ed Hanway ’74. Students are selected to participate through a competitive application pool and a new cohort is announced in October. Travel takes place in December-January during the break between semesters.

In 2026, the GSGS cohort will travel to Morocco with Dr. Heidi Shaker.
