Dr. David Marcovitz's research is released in a CIDDL Research Brief

Photo of David MarcovitzThe Center for Innovation, Design, and Digital learning (CIDDL) released a research and practice brief titled, “Intersection of Social Justice and Educational Technology in Teacher Preparation.” This brief is based on the research of Loyola University Maryland’s Dr. David Marcovitz. In this brief, Dr. Marcovitz introduces the Educational Technology Social Justice Matrix, a preliminary model he created to help frame discourses regarding research, development, and application of educational technology through the lens of social activism and anti-racism.

Dr. Marcovitz is the associate dean and educational technology associate professor at Loyola’s School of Education. He is the founding director of the educational technology graduate program. He has taught computer applications and computer programming at the high school level, and he has worked as a technology specialist in a high school. His scholarly interests include support for technology in the schools, digital citizenship, and the second-level digital divide.
