Baltimore Partnerships

Loyola University Maryland is deeply committed to strengthening its partnership with the city of Baltimore, working alongside residents, organizations, and businesses to foster positive change.

As a Jesuit, Catholic institution, we embrace our mission of service, innovation, and justice by engaging in initiatives that support education, economic development, sustainability, and social equity. Through collaboration, we promote health and well-being, cultivate lifelong learning, invest in local businesses, and celebrate the city’s rich artistic and cultural heritage. With a shared vision for a stronger, more inclusive Baltimore, Loyola continues to be an active partner in creating a thriving community where all can flourish.

Health & Wellbeing

At Loyola, we are committed to caring for our common home and fostering a community of belonging. As a Jesuit, Catholic university, we uphold values such as cura personalis (care for the whole person) and cura apostolica (care for our shared mission). Deep care for one another is central to our identity and mission. In partnership with our Baltimore neighbors, we actively promote health and well-being through outreach programs, wellness initiatives, and community engagement that strengthen the bonds between our campus and the city we call home.

Neighborhood Resilience

We work alongside our neighbors and community partners to drive meaningful economic and social progress in the York Road corridor. Our efforts focus on enhancing local education, supporting youth development, strengthening civic engagement, and revitalizing small businesses. By investing in these initiatives, we help create new opportunities for residents, encourage business growth, and ensure a thriving, inclusive neighborhood where all can succeed.

Education & Lifelong Learning

At Loyola, we believe education is a lifelong journey that has the power to transform individuals and communities. Beyond the traditional classroom, we offer innovative learning opportunities, workshops, and skill-building programs designed to empower individuals and teams. By providing access to knowledge and professional development, we equip learners with the tools they need to create meaningful change in their own lives and make a lasting impact on the world around them.

Arts & Entertainment

We celebrate creativity and community through a wide range of artistic and cultural experiences. We invite all members of our Loyola and Baltimore communities to connect through shared experiences, whether cheering on the Hounds at athletic events, attending lectures and concerts, or exploring exhibits in our Julio Art Gallery. These events enrich our community, foster creative expression, and provide opportunities for meaningful engagement.
