In addition to weekday 12:10 p.m. Masses and Sunday Masses at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. in Alumni Memorial Chapel, Loyola University Maryland holds faith-and mission-related events throughout the year.

Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola

Loyola marks the feast of our patron saint and founder of the Society of Jesus, St. Ignatius of Loyola, with a Mass on July 31 each year. 

Lesson and Carols​

Every December, Lesson and Carols, rooted in the great English choral tradition, combines music and scripture readings of the Advent and Christmas Season in a beautiful candle-lit setting at the Alumni Memorial Chapel.

Mass of the Holy Spirit

The Mass of the Holy Spirit is a traditional Mass that has been held annually at Loyola University Maryland since 1852. A tradition that dates to the first Jesuit Catholic school in Messina, Sicily, in 1548, the Loyola community gathers early in September to praise God and to pray for guidance from the Holy Spirit as we begin a new academic year. ​

Mission Week​

Mission Week is an annual week-long celebration of our Jesuit Catholic mission, identity, and values. Every March, the university community reflects more fully on the University's mission by participating in Ignatian formation opportunities. ​

Season of Creation​

The start of the academic year allows us to participate and celebrate the Season of Creation – an opportunity to come together in prayer and action for Creation. As a Laudato Si institution, we aspire to promote an ecological approach to justice in the city of Baltimore and beyond.  ​
