Health Outreach Baltimore recently celebrated 9 years serving families at Mercy Medical Center!

Health Outreach Baltimore's (HOB) student advocates partner with Mercy Medical Center to connect pregnant women and families with young children to community resources in three Mercy Medical Center departments:

  • Center for Advanced Fetal Care (CAFC)
  • Mother and Baby Unit
  • Family Care Practice

Over twenty-five student advocates work throughout the academic year to connect clients to following community resources:

  • Free cribs
  • GED programs
  • Health insurance
  • Home visiting

Mission and Vision

The mission of Health Outreach Baltimore is to create a partnership between Baltimore families and pre-health students through which both parties reach their full potential – families access community resources that help them thrive while students build their capacity to become socially committed health professionals.

The vision of Health Outreach Baltimore is a healthy society in which all families are connected to resources that support their independence and help them thrive in work and at home.

Health Outreach Baltimore recruits and interviews interested student applicants in February - March.
