Gender and Sexuality Studies Minor requirements
Requirements below are from the 2024-2025 catalog (graduation year 2028). Please see the university catalog for prior starting years.
One introductory course in the humanities:
- CL 226 - Women in the Christian Tradition
- EN 206 - Major Writers: Gender, Culture, and Madness
- HS 216 - A Queer History of Europe and North America
- HS 233 - Communism: A Global History
- HS 259 - Gender and Sexuality in Greece and Rome
- PL 232 - Philosophical Perspectives: Gender and Nature
- TH 211 - Women in the Christian Tradition
- TH 248 - American Feminist Theologies
One introductory course in the social sciences.
Capstone course, taken upon completion of electives. (The capstone can be taken concurrently.)
Three electives from the approved list of Gender and Sexuality courses. Two must be from the 300 or 400 level.
Specifications:
- Except for the capstone, no more than two courses in the minor may come from the same department
- No more than one of the three electives may be at the 200-level.

Many Gender and Sexuality Studies courses have a Diversity Requirement designation, and count for the fulfillment of this requirement.
