Approved Gender and Sexuality Studies Courses - per 2022-2023 catalogue and additions made through the academic year | |
---|---|
Note 1: There are two sections to this chart. The first list is of courses that have a specific number that is tied to the Gender and Sexuality Studies Minor. The second list is of courses that may be granted G&SS credit under a generic number. The Director of Gender and Sexuality Studies will designate these courses on a term-by-term basis. Note 2: This list is for future planning. Be aware that courses sometimes disappear
from this list because departments decide to replace them with something else. Be
assured that if you have already taken a course that disappears from this list it
will still count for G&SS credit. |

Review this list of study abroad courses that are approved for Gender and Sexuality Studies minor credit when you consider where to apply and when selecting courses once you are accepted. Please note the Loyola equivalents that are associated with each course (right most column, LUM OIP equivalent). This is important to (a) avoid registering for a course that you have already taken and (b) to secure credit from a relevant department when LUM OIP equivalent says, “Needs chair approval.” Please remember that Loyola University Maryland has no control over when the courses are taught.
Large universities (Copenhagen, Cork, Melbourne, New Castle) may offer additional courses that will qualify for Gender and Sexuality Studies minor credit. Students, please follow the instructions for qualifying a course from another institution for gender studies credit. This is an important step to ensure that each course has the appropriate gender content and that you do not duplicate a course that you have already taken at Loyola.
