Health Communication Certificate

The 12-credit Health Communication certificate provides students with essential skills in crafting effective communication strategies within the health sector. This certificate analyzes the ways digital platforms influence health messaging, exploring both the impact of emerging media on society and its role in health care. Students gain expertise in health communication research methods, from traditional techniques to the use of big data, and develop the ability to analyze and address cultural differences in health care. Additionally, students will learn how to design and execute strategic health communication campaigns, focusing on issues such as health promotion, disease prevention, and behavior change. Graduates of this certificate will be well-equipped for careers in public health, health care organizations, government agencies, and nonprofits, where there is a growing demand for professionals skilled in using digital media and cultural insights to influence health outcomes and policy.
