April 22, 2026
The Tate lab is pleased to recognize the outstanding achievement of its member Khair Dixon '27 who has been selected to participate in the highly competitive Cancer Undergraduate Research Experience and Mentorship Program (CURE-M) at the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center this summer. CURE-M is a selective, full-time, 10-week summer research program designed to provide undergraduates with immersive training in cancer research where participants are paired with faculty mentors and engage in hands-on research projects spanning cancer biology, translational science, and clinical investigation. As part of this program, Khair will be conducting research in the Riggins Lab at Georgetown University Medical Center, a laboratory known for its work investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer progression and therapeutic response.
Selection for CURE-M is highly competitive and reflects both academic excellence and strong potential for future contributions to biomedical research. The Biology Department congratulates Khair on this impressive accomplishment and looks forward to seeing the impact of his work this summer. His selection for this program is a testament to his hard work, curiosity, and promise as an emerging scientist and clinician.
