Teaching Faculty
Teaching faculty, including Loyola teaching fellows, are welcome to apply for funds from these Center for the Humanities' programs: Small, Medium, and Large grants; Grants for Teaching Faculty Attending Academic Conferences; Summer Study grants for Teaching Faculty; Nurturing Intellectual Friendships.
Full-time teaching faculty, including Loyola teaching fellows, may also apply for funds from the following programs: Faculty Publication costs, Faculty Publication Library, and the Student Research Assistant Program.
Other Sources of Funding
A new program from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) seeks to strengthen the teaching and study of the humanities at institutions of higher education by developing new humanities programs, resources (including those in digital format), or courses, or by enhancing existing ones. Projects must be organized around a core topic or set of themes drawn from such areas of study in the humanities as history, philosophy, religion, literature, and composition and writing skills. NEH welcomes applications for projects that are modest in scope, duration, and budget, as well as applications for expansive, long-term projects. Grants are up to $150,000. The period of performance can be from one to three years. Please consult the NEH website for more information about the Humanities Initiatives at Colleges and Universities.
