Below you will find important information on course registration, override requests, and withdrawals for upcoming undergraduate terms offered at Loyola.

Fall 2026 Registration

Fall 2026 Registration Dates

• Class of 2027: March 18, 2026
• Class of 2028: March 25, 2026
• Class of 2029: April 15, 2026

6th course registration for the Fall 2026 semester opens July 15, 2026. Students must have electronic sixth course permission from their advisor in order to add a sixth course. Learn more about sixth course permission.

Once the assigned registration date and time has passed, undergraduate students will be permitted to drop/add courses for Fall 2026 until 11:59 PM, Monday, September 7, 2026 through Student Planning via Loyola Self-Service. NOTE: Loyola University will be closed on September 7th in observance of Labor Day. 

Fall 2026 Course Withdrawal

The Fall 2026 withdrawal period begins at midnight on September 8, 2026. The deadline for undergraduate students to withdraw from Fall 2026 course(s) with a grade of “W” is Monday, November 30, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Learn more about policies related to a course withdrawal.

In order to withdraw, students must complete the Change of Registration form with their instructor’s signature and bring it to the Academic Advising and Support Center in Maryland Hall, Room 138 before the deadline. During the final two days of the course withdrawal period, AASC may approve a course withdrawal without the signature of the course instructor. 

Student athletes will also need a signature from their athletics advisor, and International Students must consult with Sunanda Bhatia, Director of International Student Services prior to submitting the form. Students are also encouraged to consult with the Office of Financial Aid at 410-617-2576 if they have any questions or concerns about the potential impact of a course withdrawal on their financial aid or scholarship. Most aid and scholarships require students to maintain full-time status (12 credits or more).

Spring 2027 Registration

Spring 2027 Registration Dates

• Class of 2027: October 21, 2026
• Class of 2028: October 28, 2026
• Class of 2029: November 4, 2026
• Class of 2030: November 11, 2026

6th course registration for the Spring 2027 semester opens November 13, 2026. Students must have electronic sixth course permission from their advisor in order to add a sixth course. Learn more about sixth course permission. 

Once the assigned registration date and time has passed, undergraduate students will be permitted to drop/add courses for Spring 2027 until 11:59 PM, Monday, January 18, 2027 through Student Planning via Loyola Self-Service. NOTE: Loyola University will be closed on this date in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday.

Spring 2027 Course Override Requests

Students looking to register for a closed (full) spring course may submit a course override request form.

This form is currently unavailable.

All course overrides are reviewed by the department chair and are only approved if there are extenuating circumstances. The override request will not be processed if there is a time conflict with your existing schedule, you do not have 6th course permission from your advisor, or if there is a financial or registration hold on your account.

Course instructors do not have authority to grant overrides.

Please continue to check Student Planning for openings in your desired course.  You may add/drop courses yourself in Student Planning. The deadline to be registered for approved overrides for Spring 2027 is 5:00 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2027. 

The deadline to register for Spring 2027 courses is 11:59 p.m., Monday, January 18, 2027. NOTE: Loyola University will be closed on this date in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday.   

NOTE: Sixth (6th) course registration will open on November 13, 2026.
