Loyola University Maryland named to 2024 Education A-List by PRNEWS
Loyola University Maryland was named to the 2024 Education A-List by PRNEWS, which provides news and networking for the public relations industry. The Education A-List recognizes institutions of higher education as the best for career advancement in PR and marketing communications.
The recognition highlights Loyola’s Master of Arts in Emerging Media, a graduate-level communications degree that prepares students to take on the evolving digital landscape of tomorrow.
“We are proud to again be included on this list from PRNEWS,” said Greg Hoplamazian, Ph.D., associate professor and academic director of the Emerging Media program. “The Emerging Media program continues to deliver on its promise of training our students to adapt to new ways communication technologies are being integrated into our personal and professional lives.”
The Emerging Media program teaches students to assess innovation and trends in communication, develop and execute strategies to capitalize on new media opportunities, and evaluate their impact. Designed for students of any academic background, the 33-credit master’s program can be completed full time in as little as one year or part time in two-to-five years.
“Our faculty are committed to ensuring our students are prepared for the challenging legal and ethical decisions that accompany any new technology, such as generative AI,” Hoplamazian said. “We want our graduates to be comfortable using these new tools and to view their adoption as simply part of lifelong learning where we need to determine whether and how to incorporate new tools into our lives.”
Last year, the Emerging Media program added two new specializations: content development and strategy as well as digital culture. The program also offers a health communication specialization or general Emerging Media track.
