Pre-Fall Programs
Get an early connection to Loyola and your classmates! Loyola’s Pre-Fall Programs
offer you the opportunity to jump right in to one of five experiences that take place prior
to the beginning of Fall Welcome Weekend, giving you a chance to arrive to campus
a few days early and ease into your first year at Loyola. From outdoor wilderness
experiences to service immersion, you can explore some of the exciting aspects of
Loyola and its surrounding communities.
As a participant in a Pre-Fall program, you will meet a variety of people who share
similar interests. You will get to know fellow students and spend time with Loyola
administrators and faculty outside the office or classroom. We challenge you to take
this opportunity to meet new people and acquire new skills. Whatever your interests,
Loyola offers a program that is right for you.
The last day to register for a Pre-Fall Program is Monday, July 15! Click the "Learn More" button below each pre-fall program to

Pre-Fall Programs
F.I.R.S.T. Find. Ignite. Reflect. Serve. Transition.
F.I.R.S.T. provides students the opportunity to begin their Loyola journey with strong friendships and a loving community formed through the lens of interfaith exploration, social justice, and Ignatian spirituality. Throughout their days together, students will participate in a team-building ropes course, an interfaith pilgrimage to various faith spaces in Baltimore, and a community service day in our local neighborhood. F.I.R.S.T. participants will open their first year having already experienced a glimpse of the Evergreen campus, life in Baltimore, and the Loyola family.
Multicultural Awareness Program (MAP)
The Multicultural Awareness Program (MAP) is designed to assist first-year ALANA students in acclimating to campus life at Loyola. Specific objectives of the program are academic enhancement, intercultural exploration, social adjustment, and community service.
Outdoor Adventures
First-year students on the Outdoor Adventure Pre-Fall Program will explore the natural world, reflect on their upcoming college experience, and learn the intricacies of one of seven adventure activities on this exciting, overnight camping trip. Students are placed in small groups with student trip leaders, paddling, hiking, or climbing during the day and camping each night. The student instructor teams will also address questions and lead discussions on issues often in the minds of first-year students. This experience is designed to allow incoming students to have fun, make lasting friendships, and ease the transition to college life.
