Meet the Staff

Don brings more than 15 years of experience in residence life and student affairs, including leadership roles at Penn State Brandywine and Alvernia University. Most recently, he served as Interim Director of Student Affairs and Assistant Director of Residence Life at Penn State Brandywine, where he provided leadership for residential operations, student engagement, crisis response, orientation, and student support initiatives.
When Don is not working, he spends his time watching Disney movies or playing Pokémon with his nieces and nephews.

Kate manages Newman Towers, which houses sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Kate works to ensure the safety and security of these halls and provides support and resources to the 700 students who reside in the community. Kate supervises the 17 Resident Assistants (RAs) in Newman.
Before working as an AC here at Loyola, Kate held positions as an Area Coordinator at McDaniel College and an Area Coordinator at La Salle University. Kate earned a Bachelor's degree in English from Alfred University and a Master’s in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration from the University of Rochester.

Brooke manages Hopkins Court, Seton Court, and the First Year students in Southwell Hall. Brooke works to ensure the safety and security of these halls and provides support and resources to the 410 students who reside in the community. Brooke supervises the 9 Resident Assistants (RAs) in the community.
Before working as an AC, Brooke was the Program Assistant for our department. Brooke previously worked as a Student Life Coordinator for First-Year Experience at Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC), where Brooke currently holds a position as an adjunct faculty member. Brooke earned Bachelor’s degrees in Sociology and Anthropology from Goucher College and a Master’s in Curriculum & Instruction for Social Justice from Loyola University Maryland.

Before working at Loyola, Nia held roles as an Assistant Teacher at the Kennedy Krieger Institute and an Office Manager at Enon Baptist Church. Nia earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Hampton University.

Before working as an AC, Ashline held roles an Off Campus Living Coordinator at Johns Hopkins University and a Testing Center Assistant at the College of Southern Maryland. Ashline earned a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Towson University.

As the Associate Director for Housing Operations, Bern manages many of the major processes students engage with throughout the year. This includes housing assignments, opening and closing of the halls, and the room change process. Bern works with the other members of the housing operations team to update the housing portal, RoomRez, and make changes to our processes to meet students' needs.
Before working at Loyola, Bern worked as the Assistant Director for Residential Education, First Year Communities - Boston College, a Community Director at the University of San Diego, and served as an AmeriCorps member at New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity. Bern earned a Bachelor’s of Science from Villanova University, a Master’s in Public Administration with a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from Villanova University, and a Master’s in Business Administration from Boston College.

Before working at Loyola, Jae held roles as the Director of Campus Life at Millersville University, the Inaugural Director of Dr. Rita Smith Wade-El Intercultural Center at Millersville University, the Assistant Director of Multicultural Programs and Campus Activities at Millersville University, and Coordinator of Multiculturalism and Inclusion at Morehead State University. Jae earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Kentucky and a Master’s in College Student Personnel from the University of Dayton.
