Meet the Staff

Kimberly Ayala
Kimberly Ayala she/her/hers Area Coordinator - Campion Tower

Kimberly manages Campion Tower, which houses many of Loyola’s sophomore residents. Kimberly works to ensure the safety and security of the building and provides support and resources to the 640 students who reside in Campion. Kimberly supervises the 15 Resident Assistants (RAs) in Campion.

Before working as an AC here at Loyola, Kimberly has held positions as an Area Coordinator at Albright College, TRIO Educational Opportunities Center Navigator at Grand Rapids Community College, a Resident Director at Calvin University, a Community School Coordinator at Kent School Services Network, and did Data Entry and Community Research at the Hispanic Center of West Michigan. Kimberly studied Social Work, Sociology, and Environmental Studies at Calvin University.

Kate Charles
Kate Charles she/her/hers Area Coordinator for Newman Towers

Kate manages Newman Towers, which houses sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Kate works to ensure the safety and security of these halls and provides support and resources to the 700 students who reside in the community. Kate supervises the 17 Resident Assistants (RAs) in Newman.

Before working as an AC here at Loyola, Kate held positions as an Area Coordinator at McDaniel College and an Area Coordinator at La Salle University. Kate earned a Bachelor's degree in English from Alfred University and a Master’s in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration from the University of Rochester.

Alli Colley
Alli Colley she/her/hers Area Coordinator - Eastside Apartments
Alli manages the Eastside Apartments, which include McAuley, Ahern, Aquinas, and Rahner Village. Alli works to ensure the safety and security of these halls and provides support and resources to the 225 students who reside in these buildings. Alli supervises the 10 Resident Assistants (RAs) in the Eastside community.

Before working as an AC here at Loyola, Alli worked as a Residence Education Coordinator at Longwood University. Alli earned Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Sociology at NC State University and a Master's in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of South Carolina.
Jared Grizzle headshot
Jared Grizzle Area Coordinator for Hopkins and Seton Courts
Jared joined Residence Life & Housing in June 2024 as the Area Coordinator for Hopkins and Seton Courts. Jared's interest in higher education developed during his undergraduate studies at Morgan State University (The National Treasure), where he received a B.S. in Strategic Communication. He then went on to work as a Resident Director at Villanova University while completing a master's degree in Higher Education Administration and Leadership, with a concentration in holistic student development. Jared has also worked on developing programming and curriculum to better support students transitioning into university life for both The University of Miami and the Center for Access, Success, and Achievement at Villanova University. He has a passion for student development, campus engagement, and fostering inclusive communities that promote personal and academic growth. Outside of work, Jared can be found traveling, spending time with friends, or walking his dog Huey.
Brooke Herold
Brooke Herold she/her/hers Area Coordinator for Butler Hall & Hammerman House

Brooke is the Area Coordinator for first-year residence halls Butler & Hammerman, a role she entered in August 2023. However, Brooke joined the Residence Life & Housing team in December 2020 as their Program Assistant. Prior to coming to Loyola, Brooke found her passion for working in higher education when she began as a student peer mentor at the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC). She is still connected to CCBC as an adjunct faculty member, where she teaches an introduction to college course for first-year students. At Loyola, Brooke is safe zone certified, a member of the green bandana brigade, a Messina mentor, and served as a graduate student representative on the Committee for Institutional Effectiveness in 2022.

 

Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Brooke received a B.A. in Sociology and Anthropology from Goucher College in Towson and an M.A. in Education in the Curriculum & Instruction for Social Justice program here at Loyola. Ask her about her nail polish collection anytime!

David Huebsch
David Huebsch he/him/his Assistant Director of Residential Education

David oversees RA training programs, the RA hiring process, and supervises the Area Coordinators in the Upperclass Area.

Before working here at Loyola, David worked as a Resident Hall Director at Sacred Heart University. David earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from William Paterson University and a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration from William Paterson University.

Maggie Iapalucci
Margaret Iapalucci she/her/hers Area Coordinator for Eastside
Margaret Iapalucci joined Residence Life & Housing in January 2024 as the Area Coordinator of Eastside. In her role, Maggie oversees Ahern, McAuley, Aquinas, and Rahner. Additionally, Maggie supervises 9 Residential Assistants.

Maggie was born in Russia and grew up in DC. Maggie received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Loyola University of Maryland and master’s degree in Clinical Professional Counseling from Loyola. Maggie is working on earning her license as a clinical counselor. Maggie previously worked as a Graduate Residential Coordinator for 2 years for Loyola and is excited to continue her work for Residential Life & Housing at Loyola. Maggie enjoys going on walks, playing soccer/volleyball, spending time with friends, playing games, and reading. 
Ashline Jules
Ashline Jules she/her/hers Area Coordinator for Thea Bowman Hall

Ashline Jules joined Residence Life and Housing in August of 2023. Ashine earned a B.S. in Biology with a concentration in Conservation Biology and Ecology from Towson University. Ashline has worked in higher education for 3 years, previously working as a Testing Center Assistant and Off-Campus Housing Coordinator.  This is Ashline’s first role in residence life and she enjoys connecting with students and fostering a sense of community.  Outside of work, Ashline loves to play video games on her PlayStation 5, listen to music, curate playlists, and hanging out with her friends. She hopes to learn how to roller skate and play guitar in the future. 

Garrison (Garry) Schmitt
Garrison Schmitt Assistant Director for Housing Operations
Garrison (Garry) moved to Maryland and joined the Loyola Residence Life & Housing team in 2018 having departed from his former role in Hospitality Administration with the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan. Garry has a diverse educational background, having served in both K-12 as well as higher education roles. But, while Garry has found a passion for working with students of all ages, he truly excels when in an atmosphere where students are empowering one another to serve, create their own identity, and care for the whole person. Bring on the Jesuit value of cura personalis!

Originally from Berlin, Conn., Garry completed his B.A. in Psychology from fellow Jesuit institution, College of the Holy Cross, and his M.Ed. degree in Higher Education Administration from Post University.

Garry enjoys leadership podcasts, PC/PS4 games, and spending time with his Wife and their two dogs, Bailey and Luke.
Jahmir Wilson
Jahmir Wilson he/him/his Area Coordinator - Lange, Gardens, Southwell

Jahmir manages Lange Court, Gardens (Avila, Bellarmine, Claver, Dorothy Day), and the sophomore students in Southwell Hall. Jahmir works to ensure the safety and security of these halls and provides support and resources to the 465 students who reside in the community. Jahmir supervises the 8 Resident Assistants (RAs) in the community.

Before working as an AC here at Loyola, Jahmir worked as a Graduate Residence Director at Wilkes University. Jahmir earned a Bachelor's degree in Sports Media from Susquehanna University and a Master’s in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in College Student Affairs from Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania, Bloomsburg Campus.
