New Faculty Academy

Loyola’s New Faculty Academy (NFA) is a structured, three-year program designed to support the professional growth of new full-time faculty—including tenure-track, teaching, and clinical appointments. The NFA fosters holistic development across teaching, scholarship, and university life, in alignment with Loyola’s Jesuit mission.
The first year of the Academy centers on community-building and fostering a deep sense of belonging. It offers a welcoming space for faculty to connect across disciplines, engage in conversations about teaching and learning that transcend departmental boundaries, and reflect on shared challenges and opportunities. Through this interdisciplinary dialogue, the NFA promotes Ignatian pedagogy, encouraging reflective practice and a commitment to care—for students and for one another as faculty.
Years two and three continue to support faculty as their roles evolve, offering mentorship and connection through key professional milestones—including tenure review, contract renewal, promotion, and long-term career development as members of the Loyola community.
