Student academic excellence is at the heart of our university’s mission and our work as scholars and educators. We are committed to celebrating student achievement and building the campus culture that spurs our students, graduate and undergraduate alike, to cultivate their own creative and scholarly voices and to aspire to make their own marks as researchers, artists, and scholars.

April 10, 2026 NAS 2026 STEM Academic Excellence Event
3 - 6 p.m., McManus Theatre CT*W101
This event recognizes the achievements of the graduating Hauber Research fellows, Haig Scholars, Choudhury Sarkar-Dey Medalist & Finalists, Health Outresearch Baltimore, Hyman Science Scholars (formerly CPaMS scholars). Alumni awardees will also be recognized in this event.
The STEM Academic Excellence Event is part of the NAS Celebration of Science Week.
April 15, 2026 Sigma Iota Rho Honor Society Induction

The Loyola University Maryland Delta Sigma Chapter of Sigma Iota Rho, a nationally recognized International Relations and Global Studies Honor Society, inducted it first class in the Spring of 2012. Sigma Iota Rho aims to promote and reward scholarship and service among students and practitioners of international and global studies and to foster integrity and creative performance in the conduct of world affairs.
The event will feature an induction into the honor society followed by dinner.

Join us for a series of one-act plays, directed by Dr. Natka Bianchini’s Directing II class (DR 356) and performed by Loyola students! The class offers students the opportunity to work with professional designers and hone their skills in all parts of the directing/production process. The course culminates in the public performance of a fully produced, one-act play directed by each student in the class as part of the Evergreen Players’ regular season.
April 17, 2026 Undergraduate Research & Scholarship Colloquium

Once a year, Loyola University Maryland hosts a campus-wide forum highlighting undergraduate student research. The goal of the Colloquium is to encourage scholastic endeavors that focus on the generation of new knowledge and the creative integration of existing scholarship. April 17, 2026 Emerging Scholars Graduate Symposium
6 - 8 p.m., Center for Intercultural Engagement (3rd Floor Andrew White Student Center)
Loyola graduate students and recent graduate alumni will present research posters at the eleventh annual “Emerging Scholars: A Celebration of Graduate Research". A poster session allows most presenters a forum to informally present their work to the Loyola community. Selected students in the Master of Theological Studies (MTS) program will conduct a brief oral presentation. The celebration of research also features an awards ceremony and a wine and cheese reception, creating a perfect setting to allow attendees to view presenters' posters, ask questions, and discuss ideas. April 18, 2026 Beta Gamma Sigma Induction Ceremony

Beta Gamma Sigma is the national honor society for students enrolled in International Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accredited business administration programs. Its counterparts in arts & science and engineering are Phi Beta Kappa and Tau Beta Pi, respectively. During the ceremony, new members are officially inducted and presented with their membership cords and certificates, symbolizing their recognition in the top tier of business students worldwide. The event fosters a sense of accomplishment and commitment to the values of the society. Join us on this special day to celebrate our students' accomplishments!
April 18, 2026 Phi Beta Kappa Induction Ceremony and Reception
11:30 a.m., Alumni Memorial Chapel with Reception to follow in Hug Lounge
Join us in celebrating the academic excellence of our newest members as they are inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, the nation’s oldest and most prestigious academic honor society. Founded in 1776, Phi Beta Kappa recognizes outstanding achievement in the liberal arts and sciences and promotes a lifelong commitment to scholarship, leadership, and civic engagement.
A reception will immediately follow in the Hug Lounge.
We hope you will join us in honoring these exceptional students and welcoming them into this distinguished society.
Inductees should arrive no later than 11:15 a.m. and check-in at the back of the Chapel with Phi Beta Kappa chapter officers.
Free, off-street parking is available in the Butler Hall Lot and Triangle parking lot. Additional parking may be available on Cold Spring Lane (please observe street parking regulations to avoid tickets or towing).

Alpha Sigma Nu, the honor society of Jesuit institutions of higher education, recognizes those students who distinguish themselves in scholarship, loyalty and service.
