Spirited Crowd Gathers for 2025 Alumni Jubilee Luncheon

From as far away as a thirteen-hour drive from Wisconsin and as nearby as just across Cold Spring Lane, Golden Greyhounds and Mount Saint Agnes College alumnae descended on the Evergreen campus last weekend to reconnect and bask in each others’ company for the annual Golden Jubilee Luncheon.

Attendees to the event on Friday, May 2, were treated to a special 12:10 p.m. Mass in the Alumni Memorial Chapel, officiated by Alumni Chaplain, Rev. Bill Rickle, S.J., ’70. His well-received address included a blessing of friendship along with a few choice allusions to the culture in evidence at the Loyola of yore with regard to the Book of Matthew.

The good times flowed from there into McGuire Hall, where attendees enjoyed a savory meal and the chance to reconnect in a less formal setting. Select items from the archives were on display, including yearbooks, signage, and clothing of familiar vintage, and speeches were given by Assistant Vice President of Advancement Colleen Riopko, ’02, as well as President Terrence M. Sawyer, J.D.

Applause was especially thunderous when Sawyer relayed the well-publicized news of Loyola's No. 23 ranking in the Wall Street Journal/College Pulse 2025 Best Colleges in the U.S. poll, particularly with regard to our ranking as the top Jesuit institution in the country.

The Class of 1975 were also welcomed as newcomers to the Golden Greyhounds circle of alumni, with several in attendance in advance of their milestone 50th celebration which took place on Saturday.

One reveler from the Class of 1964 also chose to identify himself as a newcomer by bringing and wearing his first-year beanie. As of press time, there was no word on the response to the sight by colleagues from the Classes of 1963, 1962, or 1961.
