Dr. Andrea Leary wins CFH Teaching Faculty Excellence Award

Dr. Andrea Leary, teaching professor of writing, has won the Center for the Humanities' 2023 Teaching Faculty Excellence Award.

This annual award recognizes outstanding achievement by a member of the teaching faculty in one of the humanities departments.  As noted in Dr. Leary's nomination letter, "She is masterful at writing pedagogy, facilitates student learning, and is a reflective practitioner. She understands the Jesuit mission and frames her work with its tenants. Moreover, Dr. Leary is a model teacher for community engagement at Loyola. Every class she teaches is designated as service-learning optional; consequently, she has consistently supported eleven organizations and nonprofits in the Baltimore area." The CFH steering committee congratulates Dr. Leary for her nearly three decades of service to Loyola.

Dr. Leary will be recognized for her achievement at this year's Celebrate the Humanities! on September 29 at 3pm in the Fourth Floor Program Room.
