Studio Arts Degree Information

Students at Loyola may complete a major in visual arts with a concentration in studio arts, an interdisciplinary major, a major in visual arts with a concentration in interarts, a minor in studio arts, a minor in interarts, or take studio arts courses as electives.

Visual Arts Major, Studio Arts Concentration

Requirements for the major:

  • AH 109 - Non-Western Art or AH 110 - Western Art: Paleolithic to Gothic or AH 111 - Western Art: Renaissance to Contemporary
  • PT 270 - Basic Digital Photography
  • SA 224 - Two-Dimensional Design or SA 227 - 3-D Design in Art and Engineering
  • SA 225 - Drawing
  • SA 350 - Visual Thinking
  • SA 400 - Senior Capstone for Artists
  • Four SA 300-level courses
  • One PT 300-level course
  • One AH 300-level or 400-level course

Visual Arts Major, InterArts Concentration

Requirements for the major:

  • AH 109 - Non-Western Art or AH 110 - Western Art: Paleolithic to Gothic or AH 111 - Western Art: Renaissance to Contemporary
  • PT 270 - Basic Digital Photography
  • SA 224 - Two-Dimensional Design or SA 227 - 3-D Design in Art and Engineering
