Biography

Professor Daniel Pinha is a faculty member who teaches specialized courses in theatrical design. He holds a degree in Scenic Design from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and an MFA from the University of Maryland.

Professor Pinha’s dynamic career spans theatre, film, and television, featuring a wide range of international collaborations. He partnered with renowned photographer Carrie Mae Weems on a multimedia installation at New York’s prestigious Park Avenue Armory. In Brazil, he collaborated with acclaimed artists, including Oscar-nominated actress Fernanda Montenegro and Golden Globe Award–winning actress Fernanda Torres.

Professor Pinha’s scenic designs have appeared on stages across the United States and abroad, earning regional recognition and nominations for the Helen Hayes Awards for Outstanding Set Design.

In addition to his academic and design work, Professor Pinha is the Co-Director of Infinite Stage, a performance art company, and the founder of Giiraf, an initiative dedicated to integrating art and well-being.
