Accreditation
Loyola University Maryland is an accredited institution and a member of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). The Commission's most recent action on the institution's accreditation status on June 24, 2021, was to reaffirm accreditation. Details can be found in the Statement of Accreditation Status.
The psychology department is a member of the Council of Applied Masters Programs in Psychology. It is also a member of the National Council of Schools and Programs of Professional Psychology.
The Psy.D. program is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA). The first class of students enrolled in 1996 and we are proud that all our Psy.D. graduates are designated as graduating from an APA-approved* doctoral program in clinical psychology. The department continues to be actively engaged in a rigorous self-study process in order to maintain high-quality standards of education and training.
The Psy.D. program is listed by the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards/National Register (ASPPB/NR). This listing recognizes that the Psy.D. program meets all academic requirements of State licensing boards for a graduate to be eligible for State licensure as a psychologist.
