Majors
Students can perfect their knowledge of the following languages and their associated cultures through the following majors.
French
- Major Requirement: 11 courses (for class of 2026 and after) beyond core requirement, which includes two ML courses, three or four 200-level courses and at least six 300-level courses.
- Study abroad at the American University in Paris. Exchange programs are in Montpellier for the summer and also in Lyon for more business courses.

Spanish

- Study abroad in the fall or spring in Alcalá, Spain or in San Salvador. Exchange programs are available in Buenos Aires, Argentina; Santiago, Chile; and in Madrid, Spain.

Comparative Cultures and Literary Studies
- Topics in Comparative Culture and Literary Studies (ML 307).
- Six courses at the 104-level or higher in at least two languages: AB, CI, FR, GR, GK, LT, IT, ML, PO, or SN; at least two courses need to be 300-level courses.
- Four approved courses from participating disciplines in AH, CL, EN, HS, PL, and TH.
- CCLS Capstone Research Paper (ML 402)
Note: Among the 12 required courses at least two must be 100- or 200-level courses and six must be upper-division 300-level courses.
