Sasha Singh is a Noyce Scholar at Loyola pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching in Secondary Education with a focus in science. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Stevenson University and now teaches at Landsdowne Middle School.
Sasha’s path to teaching began in 2021, when she helped teach her identical twin brothers during COVID.
“I fell in love with teaching them and realized I wanted to share my love for science with everyone,” Sasha said.
Before entering the classroom, she worked in a range of laboratory settings, including hospitals, the Department of Health, and the Emergency Response Laboratory in Washington State.
Through the Noyce Scholars Program, Sasha has valued the opportunity to transition into teaching while building skills in differentiating instruction, classroom management, and relationship-building. She is especially committed to supporting students in high-need schools by creating a classroom grounded in safety, kindness, and respect.
"Students in high-needs schools need compassion, kindness, and stability in their lives,” Sasha said.
After graduation, Sasha plans to become a high school science teacher in a high-need school district and hopes to make an impact by helping students feel safe, valued, and supported.
