Meet Tim Clark, Director of the Noyce Scholars program. Tim's advice for aspiring math/science educators: "Bring your passion for STEM into the classroom! Students will feed into your enjoyment of the subject as you get to know them as people. When you are your authentic self with students, they find ways to step into new versions of who they can be in math and science."

"Science and math is so important for every student, even for those who are not interested in careers in the field. A good science secondary education science teacher can really help students understand how the world works which in turn helps build societal support for scientific endeavors."

Meet Sibren Isaacman, Noyce Faculty member, department chair and associate professor of computer science. What is his favorite thing about teaching? "Getting to know each student and figuring out the best ways to connect with the student and incorporate the things you are trying to teach them into their existing world view is rewarding and challenging in equal measure. Building up a rapport with the students and the mutual respect for abilities feels incredible."

"Find the fun in your content and present THAT to students. If you’re career changing, that’s even better! Use your life experiences to present students the 'why' of the content without them having to ask themselves."
