What Eye Has Not Seen: A Defense of Modern Catholic Churches and the Liturgical Perspectives
Required to Properly Appreciate Them
(Oral Presentation)
My thesis is an attempt to redeem the interiors and exteriors of modern Catholic churches,
which many Catholics deem too ugly and too simple to truly express the respect and
worship due to God. If one reevaluates the ways Catholics perceive the liturgy and
the prepare themselves “for the greater glory of God” outside of the liturgy, we will
see that the inspirations behind modern ecclesiastical architecture are not novel,
but have rather been masked by overly mundane interpretations.
