A sunburst peeking through the trees on the academic quad

At Loyola University Maryland, sustainability translates to Caring for Our Common Home. As a Jesuit university, we are guided by this fourth Universal Apostolic Preference, acknowledging the importance of caring for our planet for our current and future generations.

Sustainability encompasses reducing our impact on the environment, fostering healthy ecosystems on our campus, and investing in resiliency and adaptation efforts. Caring for Our Common Home also extends beyond the environment, also focusing on the social, economic, and spiritual aspects related to sustainability.
