Wellness
The Department of Recreation and Wellness encourages the whole person to be active,
                        healthy, and inspired. We promote health and well-being through our fitness and wellness
                        programs, mental health through our counseling services, and spiritual health through
                        our campus ministry. The department addresses students' needs in a holistic manner—all
                        elements of the individual are considered: intellectual, environmental, spiritual,
                        physical, multicultural, community, mindfulness, and financial.
Physical Wellness
                           Supporting healthy bodies through regular exercise, a balanced and nutritious diet,
                                    and adequate sleep.
                              Multicultural Wellness
                           Awareness of one’s own cultural background and continuing to develop understanding,
                                    respect, and sensitivity to the cultures of others.
                              Financial Wellness
                           Developing knowledge and strategies to effectively position individuals to invest
                                    in short and long term planning.
                              Emotional Wellness
                           Inspiring self-care through relaxation, stress reduction, and mindfulness, including
                                    awareness and appropriate strategies for both positive and difficult feelings.
                              Social Wellness
                           Developing authentic and positive connections with others by cultivating new or existing
                                    individual relationships or membership in a group.
                              Environmental Wellness
                           Awareness of how our habits and behaviors impact the earth and unveiling what actions
                                    or steps can help lead toward a sustainable existence.
                              Community Wellness
                           Connecting with others on campus and in the community toward a larger-than-self perspective,
                                    in support of the collective experience.
                              Spiritual Wellness
                           Connecting with our inner sense of purpose or meaning. Supporting healthy internal
                                    processes that give shape to our experiences.
