Operations and Aquatics
Jay Venit joined the Loyola University Maryland Department of Recreation and Wellness in June of 2022 as the Assistant Director of Aquatics. Jay oversees the maintenance and daily operations of the Mangione Aquatics Center in addition to staff including all Lifeguards and FAC building supervisors.
Jay is from Laurel Maryland and graduated from Loyola University Maryland with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus in Finance. While at Loyola, Jay spent 4 years on the Varsity swim team and held both school and Mangione Aquatic Center records. After graduation, Jay spent 2 years in the Quality Department as a Senior Quality Analyst at Mercy Medical Center in downtown Baltimore where he was responsible for initiatives including Covid-19 Testing and Vaccinations as well as working closely with the Emergency Management and Patient Safety departments. In addition to his work at the hospital, Jay has spent the last two years as a volunteer assistant coach for the Loyola Greyhounds varsity swim team. Jay is currently working towards a master’s degree in Sports Management from the University of Florida (Online) with an expected graduation date of December 2022.
Jay loves sports, especially his Loyola Greyhounds, Baltimore Orioles, Washington Commanders, and Washington Capitals. In his free time, he enjoys swimming, biking, running, coaching, and spending time with his family and dogs.
