Fr. Brian O’Donnell, S.J., was the former Director of the Catholic Conference of West Virginia. In this last position, he represented the positions of the Diocese of Wheeling Charleston on a wide array of issues to the state legislature and state agencies, and he strives to deepen the Catholic laity’s knowledge of the social justice stances of the Catholic Church. Previous to this posting, he worked for the Appalachian Institute of Wheeling Jesuit University, aimed at exposing students and others to social issues in Appalachia. Father O’Donnell has MAs in Modern European History & Philosophy, and a PhD from the Science, Technology, and Society program at MIT.
