Chemistry & Biochemistry

The chemistry major exposes students to the five major areas of chemistry: analytical chemistry, biochemistry, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, and physical chemistry. The biochemistry major is interdisciplinary and also expands knowledge in molecular biology. After graduation many chemistry/biochemistry graduates pursue more specialized study in pharmacy, forensic chemistry, pharmacology, biotechnology, dentistry or medicine. Some graduates begin their professional career working in healthcare, hospitals, clinical research, government, and in education.
