Rachel Bachman Fall 2021
Rachel Bachman Assistant Director, Career Discovery

MEd, School Counseling, Loyola University Maryland
BA, Sociology & Women's Studies, Guilford College

Hi! My name is Rachel Bachman and I’m the Assistant Director, Career Discovery. That means I focus mostly on helping students in the early stages of trying to figure out a major or potential career – though I do anything and everything career related. I am also certified to administer the Strong Interest Inventory and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). I am a proud West Virginia native. It was during my time at Guilford College, a small, Quaker, liberal arts college in North Carolina, that inspired my desire to work at a small school with a strong mission like Loyola.  While taking one of my master's classes  – Life & Career Planning – I realized I wanted to help others with their career development, after struggling with my own for many years. Outside of work, I love going on adventures with my daughter and husband, watching British crime shows, shopping, reading, and eating chips and queso.

William Bartlett
William Bartlett Assistant Director, Partnerships & Recruiting

BS, Business with Finance Concentration, Mount St. Mary's University

My name is William Bartlett, and I am the Assistant Director, Partnerships and Recruiting. I was born in Baltimore, Maryland and was raised locally in Ellicott City. I love working directly with students, alumni, and employment partners in matching student career goals with employer needs, whether for full-time positions post-graduation or internships. My prior work experience as a financial services representative with Merrill Edge and as a recruiter assists me in working with businesses and students in facilitating partnerships that lead to careers for Loyola graduates. I especially enjoy assisting students with job preparedness, including resume building, interviewing skills, communicating with employers, education modules, and emerging industry and market trends. I hope to meet you at an upcoming career fair or other networking event!

Outside of work, I can be found playing guitar, working out at the gym, reading, or traveling with my fiancé.

Tim Cherney he/him Director, Career Readiness

MS, Student Affairs in Higher Education, Colorado State University
BA, English, John Carroll University

My name is Tim Cherney (he/him) and I’m the Director, Career Readiness. Originally from outside Cleveland, Ohio, it was at John Carroll University that I first experienced the importance of being a person for and with others, and my love for Jesuit education has remained strong since.

I came to Loyola in 2007, as a live-in Assistant Director of Residence Life & Housing and have spent much of my time at Loyola focused on helping students find a sense of belonging and purpose on campus as the Associate Director for Community Development & LGBTQPIA+ Initiatives. I’m a Messina Mentor and a facilitator for Safe Zone and StepUp! Bystander Training. As a proud and out queer member of the Loyola community, my door is always open to anyone trying to navigate campus, life, or their future career through the lenses of their identity.

In my role as Director, I work with the Career Readiness Team to help students discover their values, interests, and skills and explore pathways on and off campus to further grow.  Our goal is to ensure you are confident and ready to achieve your professional goals and meet the needs of the world around you. As someone who had no idea what he wanted to do with his life until a mentor introduced me to the field of Student Affairs, I am always happy to meet with students who feel lost and are trying to figure out their career path. I promise, you are not alone, and we are here to help.

Penelope Burlage Flury
Penelope Burlage Flury Events & Marketing Manager

BA, English/Drama, Loyola University Maryland

Hi! I'm Penelope Burlage Flury, and I'm the Events & Marketing Manager for the Rizzo Career Center. In my role, I plan & execute all of our larger-scale events, like the annual career fairs, as well as alumni panels and employer/student events. In addition, I oversee two creative assistants who assist me with graphics, social media, marketing and promotion. I also write the Weekly Top 5 from the Rizzo Career Center.

My favorite thing about my position is having the opportunity to work together with campus partners, alumni and employers in order to help students on their career and life journeys.

My ties to Loyola are strong. I am a two-time Loyola parent (Hannah and Charlotte) and an alumna married to an alumnus (Dave). My dedication to Loyola's Jesuit mission and values are what motivate me each day.

Eileen Simonson Hiebler Director, Partnerships & Recruiting

MA Candidate, Emerging Media, Loyola University Maryland
BA, English, Loyola University Maryland

My name is Eileen Hiebler and I'm the Director, Partnerships & Recruiting.  As a proud Loyola graduate, I find immense joy in connecting our current students & alumni with companies who want to recruit & hire our Greyhounds. I have management, marketing, and recruiting experience thanks to my time spent at a Fortune 100 company. In addition to my work as a liaison with companies, my team also manages all of our events, marketing, promotion, and social media efforts.  I love getting to know our first year students as a Messina mentor, and I’m pursuing a Masters Degree in Loyola’s Emerging Media Program. I originally hail from Philadelphia and now call Baltimore home with my Greyhound husband (we met on our very first day on campus!) and our three children.

Fun fact: Our children include a Greyhound ’24 and ’26.  Our youngest is in 10th grade and we wonder if he will be a Greyhound one day too?

Outside of work, I love to travel, ski, read, take in live entertainment, and plan fun adventures with our family. Nothing makes me happier than having something coming up on the calendar!

I'm reminded daily that Loyola's Jesuit Mission is my strongest professional motivator. Our amazing community, bustling quad, and friendly student body fuel me each and every day. #AMDG

MS, Clinical Professional Psychology, Loyola University Maryland
BS, Psychology, Towson University

Hi! My name is Kaitlyn Winner, and I am the Assistant Director, Career Readiness. My passion aligns with my role in helping students and alumni to determine which careers match their interests, values, and lifestyle. My work starts near the beginning of the discernment process, moving through the exploration process of who you are and what you'd like to do!

I am certified to administer the Strong Interest Inventory and educationally qualified to administer the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) to help you learn more about yourself and how you might fit into the career world. Additionally, I am the supervisor of our student employees, the Loyola Career Ambassadors, and feel truly rewarded by the work they do.

I am a proud Baltimore native, born and raised in White Marsh, MD, and a current resident of Towson, MD! I am currently a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC). I am a lifelong learner and have a true love for school - in the Fall of 2022 I decided to return to school for my second master's degree.

If I am not at work, you can find me dancing. I have been professionally trained in many styles and have been performing for over two decades. I am currently part of three companies, rehearsing most days of the week and loving every minute of it. In my free time, I love watching football (GO RAVENS!) and reading crime mysteries. I am always excited for a conversation, whether it's about jobs, school, or life, in general!
