The Opportunities in STEM Seminar Series
The Opportunities in STEM Seminar Series takes place weekly on Monday afternoons during the Fall semester of the academic year. Guest speakers from both within and outside of Loyola University Maryland deliver talks on topics which incorporate use of a wide range of Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, and Statistics ideas. Talks begin at 3pm and take place in Knott Hall 004 Fall 2022. A list of current and past semesters' talks may be obtained from the Seminar Series Web page. If you are interested in giving a talk, please contact Dr. Lisa Oberbroeckling at loberbroeckling@loyola.edu.
Research Opportunities
Loyola students have a number of ways to take their academic achievements to the next level, on campus and off.
- Hauber Summer Research Fellowship: Each summer, a select group of highly motivated, talented undergraduates work side-by-side with faculty mentors from the six natural and applied science departments at Loyola to conduct research in the students' area of interest. A committee, comprised of department chairs and the associate dean, chooses students for the Hauber Research Fellowship program based on their application and strong academic performance.
- REU's & Internships: Off campus, our students have gone to internships at National Institute of Standards and Technology, CitiFinancial, Legg Mason, and more. Read more about their REU's and internships.
- Publications: Our students take their academic achievements to the next level by having their work featured in an academic publication, with the assistance of Loyola faculty. Read more about their publications.
