Biography

Janna Haider is a Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor of History at Loyola University
                        Maryland. She earned her PhD in US History at the University of California, Santa
                        Barbara, and her MA in South Asian Studies from the University of Washington. She
                        is a legal historian of US immigration and naturalization processes in the early twentieth
                        century, focusing on immigrants from British India. Her research has been funded by
                        the Immigration and Ethnic History Society, the American Historical Association, and
                        the Association of Asian American Studies.
