The Jesuits speak of constantly challenging ourselves to strive for the magis—the greater, the more. At the Loyola Clinical Centers (LCC) that means working to provide the best possible care to our clients and their families and caregivers.
In today’s climate, the issues surrounding race, equity, and inclusion call us to action in a very deliberate and intentional way. As Father Peter-Hans Kolvenbach, S.J., stated, “The real measure of our Jesuit universities lies in who our students become.” As a community-based clinical education organization for future health care providers, the LCC is committed to training graduate students who embody the Jesuit mission of providing culturally responsive and inclusive care to all, but recognize that in today’s landscape, we ourselves need to strive to serve our clients even better.
While this past year challenged our resilience, it strengthened our commitment to serving our clients and neighbors who are members of marginalized groups and the underserved. The dedication and passion shown by our talented faculty and graduate students allowed the LCC to thrive during times of uncertainty, pivoting many services to telehealth. We remain committed to our mission of providing evidence-based services to individuals and families of all ages, cultural backgrounds, and socioeconomic statuses, and promoting an inclusive environment for the citizens of Baltimore City and surrounding communities. We look forward to another successful year at the LCC and remain grateful for the support of our community of clients, faculty, staff, and students.
